Privacy Policy — Jet and Swim

Jet & Swim ("Jet & Swim," "we," "us," or "our") is a curated editorial travel directory operated by Sunstate Bay Ventures, LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as Jet and Swim. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit jetandswim.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

By using the site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Information we collect

We keep data collection minimal. The categories below cover everything we collect.

Information you give us

Email address — if you subscribe to our email list to be notified when new resorts are added.
Correspondence — if you email us (for example, at karen@jetandswim.com or privacy@jetandswim.com), we receive whatever information you choose to include.

Information collected automatically

Analytics data via Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, time on page, referring site, approximate location (typically city/region level, derived from IP address), device type, browser, and similar standard analytics signals. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies.
Affiliate link tracking: when you click a booking link, our affiliate partners (see Section 3) may set cookies or use other identifiers to attribute any resulting booking to Jet & Swim so we can earn a commission.
Server logs: our hosting provider (Netlify) records standard request data such as IP address, user agent, and timestamp for security and operational purposes.

Information we do not collect

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Jet & Swim covers adults-only resorts and is not directed at children. We do not collect payment information — all bookings happen on the resort's or booking partner's own site, under their privacy policy.

2. How we use information

To operate, maintain, and improve the site.
To understand which resorts and destinations readers find most useful.
To send our email newsletter (only if you have subscribed).
To respond to questions, feedback, or other correspondence.
To earn affiliate commissions on qualifying bookings, which fund the site.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for targeted advertising on third-party platforms.

3. Third-party services

We rely on a small set of third-party services to run the site. Each has its own privacy policy.

Google Analytics 4 — site analytics. Google Privacy Policy.
Stay22 (LetMeAllez / Allez) — affiliate hotel booking links. Stay22 Privacy Policy.
Travelpayouts — affiliate booking links. Travelpayouts Privacy Policy.
Viator (a Tripadvisor company) — affiliate experience and tour booking links. Viator Privacy Policy.
Booking partners (which may include Booking.com, Hotels.com, Barceló, and others) — when you click a "Book" link, you are taken to that partner's site, which collects and uses information under its own policy.
Netlify — site hosting. Netlify Privacy Policy.

In the future, we may run display advertising. If that happens, this policy will be updated to identify the ad network(s) involved before any ads run.

4. Affiliate disclosure

Jet & Swim participates in affiliate programs. When you click a booking link on our site and complete a qualifying booking, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence which resorts are included in the directory or which receive a Jet's Pick — our editorial standards are set independently. We disclose this relationship here, in keeping with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements.

Sunstate Bay Ventures, LLC also operates as an independent travel advisor affiliated with Fora Travel. If you book a stay through our advisory service, we share the booking details you provide (such as your name, contact information, travel dates, and preferences) with Fora and the relevant supplier in order to arrange your reservation, and we may earn a commission paid by the supplier at no additional cost to you. Information handled through the advisory service is subject to Fora's and the supplier's own privacy policies.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (for example, basic security and load balancing by our host).
Analytics — Google Analytics cookies, used to understand aggregate traffic patterns.
Affiliate tracking — set by partners such as Stay22 and Travelpayouts when you click a booking link, used to attribute referrals.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and you can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

We are working on a granular cookie preference tool for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other regions with prior-consent rules. In the meantime, EEA/UK visitors who want us to suppress analytics and affiliate tracking can email privacy@jetandswim.com and we will honor the request.

6. Email list

If you sign up for our email list, we use your email address to send updates about new resorts added to the directory and occasional editorial notes. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing privacy@jetandswim.com. We do not share, sell, or rent the email list.

7. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we collect. The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to the default Google Analytics 4 retention period. Email subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Correspondence is kept as long as needed to address the matter it relates to.

9. International visitors

Jet & Swim is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., information we collect will be processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection rules than your home country. By using the site, you understand that information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

10. Your privacy rights

For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data.
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Our legal bases for processing are: consent (for the email list and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (for basic analytics and security), and compliance with legal obligations where applicable.

For California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

We do not sell personal information for money. Under the broad definition of "share" in California law, some cookie-based analytics and affiliate tracking may qualify as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out, email privacy@jetandswim.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information," or set the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honor.

How to exercise your rights

Email privacy@jetandswim.com from the address associated with the request, or describe enough information for us to identify the records. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage or via the email list.
