Sandals Barbados

Barbados · St. Lawrence Gap · Adults-only · Swim-up suites

Adults-only Sandals property on Barbados' south coast at St. Lawrence Gap, anchored by Crystal Lagoon Swim-Up Suites that open directly onto a lagoon-style pool system.

Sandals Barbados is in the Jet & Swim directory because the Crystal Lagoon Swim-Up category is one of the cleanest expressions of the swim-up concept anywhere in the Caribbean — patios that open directly into a lagoon-style pool system threaded through the property. We haven’t stayed here personally; the inclusion is an editorial call based on the room category and the property’s “Stay at 1, Play at 2” pairing with Sandals Royal Barbados next door.

Sandals Barbados sits on Barbados’ south coast at St. Lawrence Gap, the island’s most concentrated dining and nightlife stretch — about 15 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport. The location trades the quieter west-coast beaches for proximity to walkable food and drink outside the resort gates, which not every Sandals property offers.

The Crystal Lagoon Swim-Up Suites are the room category to book here: a network of channel-style pools running through the grounds with suites whose patios step directly into the water. Higher tiers add private plunge pools, butler service, and beachfront positions.

The “Stay at 1, Play at 2” program means dining and facility access at Sandals Royal Barbados (the newer adjacent sister property) is included — effectively giving you 17+ restaurants across the pair and a rooftop pool experience at Royal. The two resorts function as one campus connected by a short walk.

As with all Sandals properties, this is couples-only rather than strictly adults-only — bookings require two adults together, not just any two adults — but the functional outcome is the same kid-free property as any other adults-only Caribbean resort.

For Jet & Swim readers: Sandals Barbados is the right pick if you want the swim-up category in a south-coast location with dining outside the resort gates, plus the bonus of cross-resort access to the more contemporary Royal next door.
