Sandals Grande St. Lucian
Adults-only Sandals property on Rodney Bay with overwater bungalows, thatched-roof Rondoval Cottages, and swim-up suites — all on a peninsula with both Caribbean and Atlantic views.
Sandals Grande St. Lucian is in the Jet & Swim directory because it’s one of the few properties globally that combines true overwater bungalows with swim-up suites in the same all-inclusive footprint. We haven’t stayed here personally — the inclusion is an editorial call based on the room category combination and the property’s location on a double-water peninsula.
Sandals Grande St. Lucian sits on its own peninsula on Rodney Bay, with Caribbean views on one side and the Atlantic on the other. It’s one of three Sandals resorts on the island and the most water-forward of them.
The property has three room categories worth knowing about. The signature thatched-roof Rondoval Cottages are freestanding round suites with private pool sanctuaries. The Skypool Suites have private infinity pools off the bedroom balcony — Sandals originally introduced this category at their other St. Lucian property, but Grande St. Lucian carries the same concept. And the overwater bungalows, added in a later expansion, sit out over the bay with glass-floor panels and private soaking tubs.
A note on the adults-only framing: Sandals is technically couples-only — bookings require two adults staying together, not just any two adults — but the functional result is the same kid-free property as any other adults-only Caribbean resort.
The “Stay at 1, Play at 3” program means you can dine and use facilities at the two other Sandals St. Lucia properties (Sandals Halcyon Beach and Sandals Regency La Toc) on the same booking. Twelve restaurants on this property alone, more if you shuttle.
The hotel is on the northern tip of St. Lucia near the village of Gros Islet, about an hour from Hewanorra International Airport — long for a Caribbean transfer, but the scenic drive is part of the arrival.
