3 New Adults-Only Resorts Worth Knowing About in 2026

The Caribbean doesn’t exactly suffer from a shortage of adults-only resorts. But every once in a while, a handful of genuinely new properties open within the same calendar year and it’s worth pausing on that — because “new” in this industry actually means something. New staff still trying to impress. New infrastructure that hasn’t had time to wear down. And occasionally, a concept that hasn’t been done before in a particular destination.

These three opened in the last eight months. We’re paying attention.

Princess Senses The Mangrove — Green Island, Jamaica

Opened February 2026

Jamaica has no shortage of adults-only options, which makes it harder to stand out. Princess Senses The Mangrove earns attention for one reason specifically: 14 overwater villas — a category that’s been largely the domain of the Maldives and a few Sandals properties — sitting directly above the Caribbean at Green Island, about 25 minutes from Negril. Twelve of the 14 include partially glass floors, private infinity pools, and terraces cantilevered over the water. The remaining two are larger and more private still.

Below the villas, the resort offers 401 ocean-view suites in several categories, including swim-out Platinum Club suites with butler service. The water access across the property is genuinely layered — it’s not a single pool with a swim-up bar as the entire pitch.

It’s new enough that reviews are still coming in, and early guests report the usual first-year inconsistencies alongside some genuinely strong service. Worth watching. Worth booking if overwater in Jamaica is on your list.

Royalton Vessence Barbados — Platinum Coast, Barbados

Barbados has always had a complicated relationship with the all-inclusive model. The island’s identity — boutique hotels, European-plan properties, an almost deliberate restraint — has kept the big brands at bay for years. Royalton Vessence is the first major all-inclusive to really commit to the west coast, and they’ve made an effort to earn the right to be there.

The 220-suite property is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. Swim-out suites connect directly to the pool; a rooftop deck is reserved for Diamond Club guests. Late-night glow-lit pools, digital detox areas, and a creative studio that runs art and pottery workshops before shifting to live jazz — this is not a quiet retreat. It’s built for travelers who want atmosphere alongside the beach.

What makes it editorially interesting is the Mount Gay partnership. Mount Gay is Barbados’ rum — over 300 years of it — and Vessence has woven it through the experience in a way that goes beyond a logo on a cocktail menu: arrival rituals, dedicated dining, off-property excursions to the distillery itself. It’s the difference between a resort that happens to be in Barbados and one that’s actually of the place. Whether that holds up in practice is something we’ll be watching.

Secrets Mirabel Cancún — Hotel Zone, Cancún, Mexico

Opened November 2025

The Cancún Hotel Zone is not a place where new resorts generate much surprise. And yet Secrets Mirabel manages to. The property sits on a genuinely unusual footprint — Caribbean Sea on one side, Nichupté Lagoon on the other — which means sunrise and sunset are both worth staying awake for, which is not something you can say about most all-inclusives.

Preferred Club guests get swim-out suites and plunge pools. The general property has six pools and reviews that consistently call out food quality as above the all-inclusive baseline, which is the bar most of these places quietly struggle to clear.
